I am a multidisciplinary artist working performatively with a variety of materials, processes and disciplines interwoven around my ceramic practice. Fuelled by an incessant need to be immersed in, and embody, the act of making, I work as maker, observer and participant within the work. Exploring themes of intuition, vulnerability, ritual, movement and quiet noise, I use cultural and societal issues to inform and direct my work. Inspired by music and imagination, I hand-build intuitively, working intimately and empathetically in collaboration with materials, environments and other artists to create new worlds and inhabitants. Central to my practice are THE QUIET ONES: multidimensional beings who dwell within my sculptures. Having quietly made noise deep down inside the sculptures for many years, appearing only in drawings, they began to migrate en masse with great urgency, shapeshifting and speaking on their experiences. My role is as their silent witness, documenting their evolution.
