As part of the programming for our exhibition, The Fold, in Gallery I, Virga Gallery Director and curator for The Fold, Dr Jane Boyer will discuss the challenges of curating a group exhibition and hosting it online. Join us for this special talk on Tuesday, 10 November starting at 5:30pm UK-time. The talk is free, but booking is required in [cloud] Shop.
Curating an exhibition is a challenge in any setting, but the virtual gallery location is one that is still being defined. Our experiences during the Covid-19 pandemic saw the almost overnight establishment of virtual galleries. And while platforms and interfaces are abundant in hosting digital galleries for bricks and mortar galleries, many of us find these solutions less than satisfactory.
Join Jane for a discussion of the problems she faced in curating a virtual exhibition and the unusual decisions she made to make this a virtual viewing experience unlike others. The talk is free, but pre-booking is required through our [cloud] Shop.
