Today we launch our first online exhibition at Virga Gallery: Injection Site by Linda Alterwitz.

Join us as we welcome Injection Site by Linda Alterwitz to Virga Gallery. Linda’s provocative and poignant project made during the Covid-19 pandemic is a reminder that even though the crisis is over, we still live with the threat of another global outbreak of disease. Her simple approach of photographing the arms of individuals who had the Covid-19 vaccine with a thermal camera shows the variety of the body’s inflammation response. Some people had a big response and others hardly had any. These images may be frightening at first, but it was a gentle way to see what was happening under the skin as we faced the Covid-19 crisis together. Her project was participatory, inviting the public to leave a note as to why or why they chose not to have the vaccine. I’ll discuss this in more depth in our Critical Wednesday post on [cloud] this Wednesday. For now, please join us for the exhibition.
